This rack is capable of holding up to 300 lbs of dumbbells, so it’s ideal if you’re a beginner and you want to keep your smaller selection of weights organized, off the floor, and ready to access for your workout.
The frame is made from steel and the compact design is a good idea if you have a small workout space and you want something compact that isn’t going to take up too much space in your home gym/workout area.

The Marcy Multiple Dumbbell Rack features a unique design where is possible to store your dumbbells both on a shelf as well as on these holding spots on the side of the rack.

There is a maximum weight capacity of 1,000 lbs, so you can really get a lot of weights on it with a combination of both dumbbells and plates.
Should you happen to exceed the total capacity, it’s a lot easier to pick up a smaller dumbbell rack for any of your extra dumbbells, and just keep the plates and some smaller dumbbells on this rack.
The frame is made from a heavy duty steel and it comes with a powder coated finish that helps to prevent the rack from getting scratched up too much when you’re constantly moving the weights around.
At the edge of the bottom leg supports are rubber end caps that help to keep the rack in place when you’re using it and also protects your floor from getting scratched up.
One more thing I like is that this set comes with collars so that your plates won’t accidentally slide off onto the floor of from any vibrations, as long as you have collars in place.

I know there are a lot of people doing compound exercises using a barbell and weight plates, rather than just focusing on dumbbells, and if you have your own home gym then this is a plate rack you’re going to want to check out.
It’s constructed from a heavy gauge steel and it’s capable of holding up to 500 lbs of plates, so it’s a rather suitable choice for both beginner and intermediate lifters.
The upright, tree design makes it easy to grab the plates that you need for your workout without having to bend over too much or struggle awkwardly to pick them up off the floor.
The base is designed to be wide, which helps with stability when it’s fully loaded, and also comes with a rubber base to help keep everything in place and to protect your floors from getting scratched up.
Choosing a Weight Rack: Buyers Guide
These days there is a lot of variety when it comes to the different designs, sizes, shapes, and construction quality of weight racks.
However, there are some features that you want to keep an eye out for when you’re looking for the best dumbbell rack to use at home.
One of the first things you want to keep an eye out for is the overall construction of any of the racks that you’re interested in.
Since all that is designed for is to hold your dumbbells, you want to look for something simple and that’s also made using durable and quality materials.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of any racks that are made using stainless steel, because I find that this material is the best for holding my dumbbells and also offers plenty of long-term durability.
Most of the different steel racks are also quite thick, robust, and capable of holding hundreds of pounds (or more) of additional weight.
Having a rack that is sturdy and well built not only makes it easier to keep everything organized, but it also plays a role in your safety when you’re working out in your home gym.
Something poorly made might collapse when you put a weight down, and this could lead to some injuries depending on how all of the dumbbells fall to the ground.
While I recommend going with something made from stainless steel, I did notice that there are some models available made using iron.
The problem with iron is that despite the fact that it’s reliable and durable, it is a lot more susceptible to rusting, especially if you ding part of the frame and your sweat and moisture from the air builds up and causes it to corrode.
So, for the most part, something made from stainless steel is what I would recommend over any other materials because of the durability, reliability, and robust features that stainless steel offers.
Overall Design Layout
What you need to remember is that the main goal of any weight rack that you’re using is to keep your dumbbells and plates organized, kept off of the ground, and easy to grab whenever you want to start working out.
Be sure to keep your eye out for any of the models that organized the weights in a specific way that you prefer.
Most of the different racks that I have come across are rather compact, so they don’t take up too much space in your home workout area.
You definitely don’t want to go with something too small, because you might run out of room and it’s better to go with a bigger rack with plans to buy more dumbbells in the long run, rather than something small where you run out of space.
I personally prefer the models that are designed like a shelf, with two or three different platforms for me to place my dumbbells on, because it’s easier to reach the dumbbells when I need them.
If you’re using weight plates, you can also look for any racks that come with a spot for you to hang plates from, as this could save you money from having to buy a separate plate rack.
I also like the different models where I can grab all of the dumbbells from the front without having to walk around the rack, but again, your preferences might be different so try to decide what specific design you’re interested in and then work from there.
Like I mentioned up above, you want to make sure that you get a rack that’s a suitable size for your lifting needs.
When you’re just starting out working out at home, you likely won’t be using a very wide variety of different weights and you’ll be sticking to the smaller weights and dumbbells at the beginning.
As you get stronger and your workouts improve, you might want to start picking up some weights and dumbbells.
In this case, it’s always a good idea to go with a rack that’s a little bit bigger than you currently need so that you have some room to grow into it, rather than buying something too small and running out of space down the road.
The extra space can also help you to organize other pieces of home gym equipment, depending on what you’re using.
